One week ago, a very special friend of mine died. He was with me for just over ten years and he was the most Loyal of friends I've ever had. Intelligent, articulate, handsome, loving, funny. The purest spirit I've ever known and maybe the purest spirit I will ever meet again. Need I go on? Anyway it was his time to rest as he'd been sick for nearly 3 years with different things. His last 2 things being an amputated leg through cancer then 18months later cancer in his lungs. Not once did he complain, cry or get angry. He took it all in his stride and was very happy. I am talking about my dog, Jake. A cross Collie/Alsation. Our souls seemed to be connected in some way and I miss him so much. I still find myself talking as if he's still here (I know he is here in spirit). My heart sinks every morning when I wake and remember how he has gone. How I'll never feel his glossy soft fir again. I know I will get thru this but I will never get over losing him. I don't know when this pain will subside but for now I need to feel this way, to grieve for my best friend and Loyal companion who got me out of sticky situations and helped me through a rough 10 years. Thank you Jake for being you. I love you and miss you and will never forget you. Lots of love mummy. x
